Fitness attitude of gratitude
Feb 22nd
Develop a fitness attitude of gratitude. We discover a sense of wholeness as we appreciate both the small and big things in our lives. And it really helps to remember to appreciate ourselves. Appreciation is more than just acceptance — it’s respect and admiration. Appreciate simplest things like that you are healthy and you can go to the gym. Let go of criticism and self-abuse.
Do you really think that you will change if you start self-abusing yourself. In a past I had trainers that they used self abuse as a tool. It never worked and it never will. There are several things you can do to stop self-abusing yourself. That’s why it is very important to develop an attitude of gratitude. Once you do that things will change for better.
“You can never get to peace and inner security without first acknowledging all of the good things in your life. If you’re forever wanting and longing for more without first appreciating things the way they are, you’ll stay in discord.” — Doc Childre and Howard Martin

FITNESS SUCCESS IS ATTAINED ONE STEP AT A TIME

There is no sudden leap to greatness.
Your fitness success lies in doing day by day.
Your upward reach will come from working well and carefully.
Good work done little by little becomes great work.
The house of success is built brick by brick.
Adopt the pace of nature.
The secret is patience.
A bottle fills drop by drop.
You lose fat drop by drop.

How Are You Sabotaging Yourself?
Feb 13th
“If you play it safe in life you’ve decided that you don’t want to grow any more.” –Shirley Hufstedler
How are you sabotaging your potential for change? Are you getting the results you want from your fitness program?
We unconsciously use defence mechanisms to shield us from situations or actions we perceive to be scary or painful. We do not want try something new, a new workout program or a new nutrition program cause we are scarred to try. It might be painful or uncomfortable.
A part of you may want to grow and change, but another part may be resisting because change always moves you into new territory or a new level in your thinking and emotions.
If you find you are getting anxious, fearful, angry, frustrated, dismissive or unmotivated, then defence mechanisms are at work. Watch for them and know them to be signs of fear that wants to hold you back from getting a progress. Then courageously move through them.
Act as a champion and do not try to sabotage yourself.

Oprah’s personal trainer Bob Greene
Feb 11th
I watched Oprah today, she talked about weight loss with her personal trainer Bob Greene. I agree with Oprah when she said that she feels fat and old when she does not work out.
Weight training has so many benefits, let me write down few:
1. Weight training tones your muscles which looks great and raises your basal metabolism… which causes you to burn more calories 24 hours-a-day. You’ll even burn more calories while you’re sleeping.
2. Weight training can *reverse* the natural decline in your metabolism which begins around age 30.
3. Weight training energizes you.
4. Weight training has a positive affect on almost all of your 650+ muscles.
5. Weight training strengthens your bones reducing your risk of developing osteoporosis.
6. Weight training improves your muscular endurance.
7. Weight training will NOT develop big muscles on women….just toned muscles!
8. Weight training makes you strong. Strength gives you confidence and makes daily activities easier.
9. Weight training makes you less prone to low-back injuries.
10. Weight training decreases your resting blood pressure.
11. Weight training decreases your risk of developing adult onset diabetes.
12. Weight training decreases your gastrointestinal transit time, reducing your risk for developing colon cancer.
13. Weight training increases your blood level of HDL cholesterol (the good type).
14. Weight training improves your posture.
15. Weight training improves the functioning of your immune system.
16. Weight training lowers your resting heart rate, a sign of a more efficient heart.
17. Weight training improves your balance and coordination.
18. Weight training elevates your mood.
No wonder Oprah feels better when she works out!
FITNESS IS FUN
Feb 11th
Your success in any sports depends on your enjoyment.
Loving the fitness and what you do makes the difference.
If you enjoy what you do, you’ll be successful.
If you don’t enjoy what you do, you won’t be successful.
Your chances for success are directly proportional
to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.
If you play a sport you hate, face the fact squarely and get out.
You’ll never achieve real success unless you like what you are doing.
I really do not know people who lost weight and got into shape and did not enjoy lifting weights.
Success in its highest and noblest form
calls for peace of mind, enjoyment, and happiness
which comes only when you find the activity that you like best. That’s why many people who achieved their fitness goals feel happiness and fulfilled.
You don’t pay the price for success.
You enjoy the price for success.
Fitness is reward and fun, not punishment.
The job of a personal trainer is not just to teach you how to exercise correctly. A personal trainer is a motivator, will show you how to enjoy exercise fully, change your attitude towards fitness and show you that fitness is exciting and fun and not a torture.
